Chef John Parlatore knows one thing; food. Since graduating The French Culinary Institute in Manhattan, he’s launched 8 New York City restaurants; two of which he owns. Prior to opening Gastroteca in Astoria, John was invited on three occasions to the prestige’s festival of gastronomic cuisine in Mougins France, the world largest gathering of two and three stars Michelin chefs. He was the only American chef for two of those years.
Chef Parlatore brings more than 17 years of restaurant and culinary knowledge in companies ranging from small boutique private clubs to multimillion-dollar restaurant groups. A product of Up State New York, Mr. Parlatore always dreamed of owning New York City restaurants. That dream was recognized in 2013 with the opening of Gastroteca Astoria. In 2014 Chef Parlatore and Gastroteca were awarded with the Michelin bib gourmand.
Now, John owns & operates Astoria Provisions and Best Pizza Shop.
